Dionysus is in a kitchen, apron tied over a purple dress with vine details, singing to himself as he uses a melon baller to scoop out a watermelon. The large bowl next to him is already full of honeydew melon and cantaloupe, and he's got a few other ingredients nearby ready to add in once he's done with the watermelon. Mint leaves, some honey, some lemon juice, and some lime juice.

It has been quite an eventful time lately, but overall his life is pretty great right now.

"What were you working on?" He holds up another piece of fruit for Grantaire.

[futaille]

"Portraits of Sunny's family." He leans in for the fruit, chewing thoughtfully. "Magnus asked if I would."

[vineleaves]

"... As in Sagramore and Laertes, or her other family?"

[futaille]

"Her original family. Magnus figured it would be good for her to have a reminder of them so she doesn't forget them as time goes on."

[vineleaves]

"That's very sweet, I'm sure she'll -- wait, how do you know what they look like?"

[futaille]

"Magnus knows at least kind of vaguely. He described them as best he could. It probably won't be exact, but it will be at least close, and I can always change it if Sunny has feedback."

[vineleaves]

"I'm jealous that he can understand babies."

[futaille]

"Oh, babies are understandable enough about the big important things, anyway."

[vineleaves]

"That's true. And I guess I always managed just fine around kids before."

[futaille]

"There you are, then. No need to be jealous."

[vineleaves]

"I'm just saying, it would still be nice."

[futaille]

"Maybe the mansion spirits will decide to give us an event where everyone can understand babies."

[vineleaves]

"It's possible they've already done that, but on a day when Magnus was babysitting, so nobody noticed. We've only got the one baby, you know."

[futaille]

"Clearly there is one good solution to that. Which is, of course, more babies."

[vineleaves]

"Don't say that in earshot of the spirits, we'll all wake up pregnant one morning."

[futaille]

"... That is a valid point."

[vineleaves]

"Though... that does bring up a question we haven't actually talked about before. Whether or not you've ever wanted to have kids."

[futaille]

"Oh." He blinks. "I don't know that I've ever struck myself as particularly paternal."

[vineleaves]

"So that's a 'no' then, I take it?" He laughs. "Don't worry, I wasn't asking because I'm suddenly pregnant or anything. Just curious."

[futaille]

"Don't get me wrong, I like kids. They're great. It's just that I'm fairly sure I'm also not the best choice to usher one into adulthood."

[vineleaves]

He shrugs. "I think you'd do alright, if you ever decided you wanted to."

[futaille]

Grantaire smiles, just a bit. "I have my doubts. It's a nice thought, though."

[vineleaves]

Dionysus kisses Grantaire. "I do think it's probably in everyone's best interests if we direct any other babies the mansion decides to throw at us in Sagramore's direction for the time being."

[futaille]

An emphatic nod. "Those two are excellent fathers."

[vineleaves]

"They're sooooo cute with her."
