Dionysus is in a kitchen, apron tied over a purple dress with vine details, singing to himself as he uses a melon baller to scoop out a watermelon. The large bowl next to him is already full of honeydew melon and cantaloupe, and he's got a few other ingredients nearby ready to add in once he's done with the watermelon. Mint leaves, some honey, some lemon juice, and some lime juice.

It has been quite an eventful time lately, but overall his life is pretty great right now.

Grantaire's eyes close and he raises a hand to play with Dionysus's hair.

[vineleaves]

He's still working on Grantaire's buttons, but once he's got enough of them undone to get rid of the outfit altogether, he continues his trail of kisses slowly downward.


A long while later, he's snuggled up, cozy and content, and softly singing, "I will never understand how all the world misjudged you, when I have always known, how lucky I must be. I will never understand how I kept from going crazy, just waiting there, 'til you came home, to me..."

He smiles and nuzzles Dionysus a little. "You always know the best song to sing at any moment."

[vineleaves]

"Comes from just knowing a lot of songs, I suppose." He kisses Grantaire's cheek.

[futaille]

"That makes it even more impressive, I think. To know so many and still pick exactly the right one."

[vineleaves]

“…D’you think it’s because I’m from a musical?”

[futaille]

"I think it's because you're the god of theater. And even if you weren't, you're enthusiastic enough about it that you could probably do it anyway."

[vineleaves]

“Oh. Right. That makes sense.”

[futaille]

"Enjoy it. I don't make sense very often."

[vineleaves]

"Not when you can help it anyway, I'm sure."

[futaille]

"Oh, definitely not when I can help it, and at least half of the rest of the times."

[vineleaves]

"It's very unfortunate for everyone else that I'm using up so much of your precious 'sense' resources."

[futaille]

He smiles softly. "I think it's just that you understand my nonsense."

[vineleaves]

"That might be it," he boops Grantaire's nose. "I am fluent in a lot of different languages, 'nonsense' is possibly one of them."

[futaille]

He laughs. "It makes perfect sense to me."

[vineleaves]

"Of course, I only ever make perfect sense. It's what I'm known for."

[futaille]

"I'd call you the god of logic but I'm pretty sure the actual bearer of that title is here, so I won't."

[vineleaves]

Dionysus laughs. "Ah yes. Our lamp."

[futaille]

"Very useful that way."

[vineleaves]

"He does like to be useful."

[futaille]

He shrugs. "It's all right sometimes."

[vineleaves]

"What, being useful?"

[futaille]

He nods.

[vineleaves]

"Fortunately you and I don't need to be useful to anyone right now. We can just be lazy and stay in bed for the rest of the day if you want."

He smiles and snuggles close. "I'm very good at being useless."
