vineleaves: (Silly)

Open: kind of a cool ironic twist...

This post is backdated to be occurring on the last day of Rainbows. Thank you for your understanding :)

He isn't really sure how it happened, the first time. He went to make some jelly for toast, his thoughts drifted, perhaps, and he ended up not just with the jelly, but also with several bananas. This was, as you can imagine, a huge shock, and he actually jumped back when he first noticed them, startled by the absolute jumpscare of their appearance. He calmed down quickly enough, and started playing around to see what would happen.

In a way it makes sense. He has been able to tell that everything is more magical here this month, a complete opposite to the effect Dark had on things. During Dark his powers were weakened, so it would follow they are stronger now. He just didn't assume that would mean expanding his powers.

This, of course, brings us to now. It's early afternoon in one of the many parlors of the mansion, and he seems to finally have gotten the hang of things, as evidenced by the fact that he's absolutely surrounded by various fruits, fruit wines, preserves, vegetables, and even a few bags of rice. His thyrsus, which has scarcely left his side since he found it a few days ago, is resting against a wall. If his new powers are linked just to Rainbows, that means he has less than twelve hours to enjoy them. He's reasonably certain that the thyrsus will remain after the season changes.

And yet Susan is a clever woman, and very perceptive besides, and she picks up what he's putting down. "Ah," she says, raising her eyebrows, her eyes glinting. "Dance, is it?"

"The ballet, the waltz, the tango," Susan suggests. Yes, she is going to make him say it!

Susan considers the question seriously for the barest of moments - there's still not quite enough people here to have the sort of assignations she was given to in London, and she hasn't quite sorted out how to be casually friendly with one-off lovers in the immediate aftermath when she's still got to see them all the time.

But Bacchus is a god, so it oughtn't be a problem. Also, she remembers, years ago and worlds away, Edmund saying of a different Bacchus entirely, there's a chap who might do anything, absolutely anything, and even though the Bacchus of Narnia was rather different, they have got some intriguing similarities. And she does like an older man.

Plus one oughtn't turn down the opportunity to sleep with a god of sex.

"Do you know," she says, "I believe I would."

Susan gives him a keen look indeed. "I haven't got anything on my schedule at the moment," she says. "You wouldn't mind a pause in exploring the new limits of your power?"

"Oh, certainly not here! I shouldn't want to disturb SecUnit's delightful little machines if one should come by. Someplace with a locking door, I'd say. Actually --" she pauses. "I've got just the parlor."

So Susan leads him out of the room and down the hall, past a kitchen, to her parlor. It's still in the same location it always is (for her; the Mansion would never be so gauche as to move a room's location around on Susan) but, as previously established, it now connects directly, through an inner door, to her and Lancelot's bedroom - which is one floor up and two halls over. That inner door is ajar; Susan shoos Regina from the couch and back through the door before closing it firmly.

Then she turns and faces Bacchus. "Welcome to my antechamber," she says. This is mostly a joke, but Bacchus shall be forgiven if he doesn't recognize it as such.

"I'm pleased you think so," says Susan, drawing him in for a kiss.

After, she tucks her hair behind her ears, slumping - as much as Susan Pevensie can ever slump - back against the couch. "You've got my thanks," she says, fanning herself.

Susan has missed spontaneous sex with new partners. It's been ever so long since Lancelot was traded out with Lanse, and longer still since Liu Mingyan's visit. Dean the ice-cream man hardly counts. She tucks her hair behind her ears again, then says, "Might I offer you some tea? Biscuits?"

After a moment in which Susan gathers all of her strength - Bacchus rather left her weak in the knees! - she hauls herself to her feet. She shall deal with her clothes later. "How do you take yours?" she asks, flipping on the electric kettle. "And let's see... I've got chocolate digestives, ginger nuts, and..." she rummages through the tin of biscuits that she keeps behind the little wet-bar that her parlor has generated. "Oh, yes. Hazelnut shortbread with lemon and thyme." The latter are, of course, Edmund's favorites; she'd made them earlier that week, so they're a little less fresh than the others. But still rather tasty, if you ask her!

"Are you more of a coffee man, then? I'm afraid I haven't got any to offer."
quote_gentle_unquote: (92. and don't let me)

[personal profile] quote_gentle_unquote 2024-11-26 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
This just absolutely doesn't compute for Susan, who bustles about preparing tea for the both of them anyway.

"No, please, it shan't be but a moment. Make yourself comfortable." She shall give him milk and several sugars. That's jucier, yes? "Did any of the sorts of biscuits sound good?"
