He isn't really sure how it happened, the first time. He went to make some jelly for toast, his thoughts drifted, perhaps, and he ended up not just with the jelly, but also with several bananas. This was, as you can imagine, a huge shock, and he actually jumped back when he first noticed them, startled by the absolute jumpscare of their appearance. He calmed down quickly enough, and started playing around to see what would happen.

In a way it makes sense. He has been able to tell that everything is more magical here this month, a complete opposite to the effect Dark had on things. During Dark his powers were weakened, so it would follow they are stronger now. He just didn't assume that would mean expanding his powers.

This, of course, brings us to now. It's early afternoon in one of the many parlors of the mansion, and he seems to finally have gotten the hang of things, as evidenced by the fact that he's absolutely surrounded by various fruits, fruit wines, preserves, vegetables, and even a few bags of rice. His thyrsus, which has scarcely left his side since he found it a few days ago, is resting against a wall. If his new powers are linked just to Rainbows, that means he has less than twelve hours to enjoy them. He's reasonably certain that the thyrsus will remain after the season changes.

"Oh it's absolutely lovely in here!" he says, looking around. There are more important matters at hand though, so he does stop admiring the decor to instead turn his attention to Susan.

After, she tucks her hair behind her ears, slumping - as much as Susan Pevensie can ever slump - back against the couch. "You've got my thanks," she says, fanning herself.

Dionysus gives her a kiss on the cheek, and smiles. "Oh, goodness no, it was my pleasure!" Y'know. Literally.

Susan has missed spontaneous sex with new partners. It's been ever so long since Lancelot was traded out with Lanse, and longer still since Liu Mingyan's visit. Dean the ice-cream man hardly counts. She tucks her hair behind her ears again, then says, "Might I offer you some tea? Biscuits?"

"Oh, that would be lovely!" Does he like tea? Nope. Is he going to turn down such a kind offer? Nope. Is he going to turn the tea into wine as soon as it gets in his mouth? ...Maybe. It's entirely possible.

After a moment in which Susan gathers all of her strength - Bacchus rather left her weak in the knees! - she hauls herself to her feet. She shall deal with her clothes later. "How do you take yours?" she asks, flipping on the electric kettle. "And let's see... I've got chocolate digestives, ginger nuts, and..." she rummages through the tin of biscuits that she keeps behind the little wet-bar that her parlor has generated. "Oh, yes. Hazelnut shortbread with lemon and thyme." The latter are, of course, Edmund's favorites; she'd made them earlier that week, so they're a little less fresh than the others. But still rather tasty, if you ask her!

Oh damn, he didn't think about what if she asks what kind of tea he likes. "Oh, um, well -- I don't actually drink tea often enough to have a preference." Which is still sort of a lie, in that he does have a preference. His preference is to not drink tea.

"Ah, well -- not to be a walking cliche of myself, but I usually drink mostly juice and wine." Mostly wine, if we're being honest, but he also likes it unfermented.

This just absolutely doesn't compute for Susan, who bustles about preparing tea for the both of them anyway.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" he asks. He does not know how to make tea. If he tried to make tea it would undoubtedly be an unmitigated disaster. He feels like it's probably polite to offer assistance anyway.

"No, please, it shan't be but a moment. Make yourself comfortable." She shall give him milk and several sugars. That's jucier, yes? "Did any of the sorts of biscuits sound good?"

Oh right, cookies! "Ah, you said you have chocolate digestives, right?"

"I have," warmly.

"I love chocolate digestives!"

"Then it's settled." The water has come to a boil; she pours it into each of their mugs, gives them a good stir, and moves some of the biscuits to a little dish - chocolate digestives for Bacchus, and a few ginger nuts and a shortbread for herself. Then she brings the whole lot back over to the couch, settling them on the coffee table and taking a seat again. "It ought to steep for a moment."

He did know that much about tea, at least! "Thank you, dear, this is very sweet of you."

"Is it?" Susan is of the mind that it's just good manners.

"I think so," he smiles.

"Very well, then, I shall accept the compliment."

"Excellent, we're in agreement then!" he says with a laugh.

"Lovely." Susan takes a bite of a ginger-nut and sips her tea.

Dionysus likewise tries the tea, and -- yep, it's tea. That drink he doesn't like. She has put some sugar in it, which he appreciates, and which does make it better than it would be otherwise, but well.

On his second sip it turns into wine once it leaves the cup. "That's lovely dear, thank you again." Note that he doesn't refer to the drink specifically as lovely, he's referring to the gesture, so he's technically not lying.

There's a scratching at the door then, and an imperious yowl, and so Susan rises again, gracefully. "I ought to warn you," she says, and goes to crack the door between the parlor and her bedroom. Regina strolls out, leaps onto the couch, sees Dionysus, startles, and recovers into a magnificent stretch.

Dionysus lights up. "Oh, hello there, little darling!" he says, holding out his hand for her to sniff if she wants.
