Dionysus is in a kitchen, apron tied over a purple dress with vine details, singing to himself as he uses a melon baller to scoop out a watermelon. The large bowl next to him is already full of honeydew melon and cantaloupe, and he's got a few other ingredients nearby ready to add in once he's done with the watermelon. Mint leaves, some honey, some lemon juice, and some lime juice.

It has been quite an eventful time lately, but overall his life is pretty great right now.

Lancelot gives his own little shrug, "Thou'rt my friend."

[vineleaves]

Dionysus smiles. "I'm very glad we're friends, you know."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"Really?" He laughs a little. "Why?"

[vineleaves]

"Why am I glad we're friends?" he asks with a laugh, like it should be obvious. "You're fun to be around, for one. And you're just, y'know, a great guy."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"Fun?" He seems glad, delighted even, but definitely surprised.

[vineleaves]

"Yeah, I have fun talking with you."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"Oh. I see," though there is a faintly perplexed air about it. He deliberately refocuses and digs into the fruit salad.

[vineleaves]

"You don't believe me?"

[lanselos_du_lac]

"I believe thee," a bit carefully, "but I do not think of myself as 'fun.'"

[vineleaves]

"What do you think of yourself as then?"

[lanselos_du_lac]

"A great many things, I suppose. But 'fun' is... folk like thyself, or Grantaire."

[vineleaves]

"We're both certainly louder than you are, but that doesn't mean you're any less fun, dear."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"No?" He gives a little smile. "Perhaps I am learning well, then."

[vineleaves]

"Anyway, I'm sure Étienne would agree with me, that you're fun."

[lanselos_du_lac]

Lancelot laughs, surprised, "I should hope so!"

Of course, now he's a little worried that that's not the case, but he will do his best not to say so.

[vineleaves]

"We need to all hang out together sometime!"

[lanselos_du_lac]

His eyebrows go up, "Dost think so?"

[vineleaves]

"Of course! Why not?"

[lanselos_du_lac]

Lancelot shakes his head and smiles, "There is no reason not to. I am only a little surprised. I think it would be nice, yes."

[vineleaves]

"Then that's settled then! As soon as we can figure out a time!"

[lanselos_du_lac]

"Yes, of course." He thinks, for a moment, to ask about inviting Susan but decides to wait. He isn't quite sure how Susan would feel, so instead he resolves to ask her and bring it up with Dionysus when they're discussing the time.

"Thank you for this," he says again, raising up the bowl. "It is very refreshing, after being out in the heat."

[vineleaves]

"Oh yeah, don't worry about it!"

Lancelot gives him a more solid smile and says, with a faintly teasing tone, "I am not worried, but I am glad."

[vineleaves]

Dionysus laughs. "I'm glad you're glad!"

[lanselos_du_lac]

He laughs again, "I could hardly be anything else."
