Open: In a shout of joy at the only shrine where you come benighted and leave benign

Dark has come and gone again, which means it’s time to party.

In some ways the party is very similar to last year’s - same large banquet room in the mansion, a similarly large abundance of food and drink, and the promise of a night full of letting loose for everyone in attendance. It’s far from a direct clone of the previous party though. For starters, Dionysus has had Claudius help him in all of the planning (sometimes a god’s blessings come in the form of enrichment for one’s enclosure). They’ve gotten several of the mansion’s residents to agree to play live music during the night, and Dionysus was able to find some, ah, more widely appreciated CDs to play during the breaks between performers.

The room has been decorated to the nines again, but where last year he had green vines draping on the walls diffusing the glow from the twinkling fairy lights, this year he has strung up swooping vines of silver, glittering almost like tinsel. The large food tables have an almost ridiculous amount of things to munch on; there should be something for everyone there.

It should go without saying that the beverage tables are well-stocked, considering the host.

The festivities are starting a little earlier this year than last, out of respect for those who may or may not have earlier bedtimes. Come dressed in your finest, it’s a yearly tradition now!




Just as there was last year, there is to be an ‘after party’. If your character is part of the standard Orgy Invite Crew, they will have received another invitation to that half of the evening as well. Just like last year, this part of the event is to be handwaved, for obvious reasons.

"You can stay with me a while, then. Would you like to learn some of the songs children learned on my world when I was about your age?"

"All right." He heads to a corner of the room to sit with her.

This is nice, this is like an activity, and the party doesn't have any other activities really. Sunny is having to invent activities with all of her friends. Sissy and Claudi must be really bad at making parties because they forgot to include activities at this one. "How does the song go?"

He settles on a chair with Sunny in his lap. A quick weave to somewhat lower the sound coming at them to make it easier to hear and he begins to sing a bright and upbeat song.

This is a very very good song! Sunny claps and dances in Smodean's lap as he sings it. "I like that song Smodean!"

"Thank you, Sunny. I like it too."

"You can sing it again please?"

"Of course." He promptly does so, bouncing Sunny in his lap to the beat.

Sunny starts singing along this time, which mostly amounts to her shouting the word 'grass' at intervals hoping it's the right time to say that word.

She's even right about half the time, so well done, Sunny. As they finish, Asmodean smiles and applauds. "Well done."

"Next time you when it your turn to play music you gotta play this song, okay Smodean? Cause then everyone can hear it cause it a good song."

"All right, Sunny. You requested the song, so I will play it."

[biteybaby]

"I bet everyone gonna say 'oh wow Smodean that the best song you ever played'."

He smiles. He's pretty sure that Sagramore's favorite, at least, will remain unchanged, but is fond nevertheless of Sunny's input. "Oh, do you suppose?"

"Uh huh cause it not a boring song like sometimes you play."

[involuntaryturncoat]

"Oh, do you think some of my songs are boring?"

[biteybaby]

"Only the boring ones, don't worry Smodean."

[involuntaryturncoat]

"Thank you. What is it that you think makes a song boring?"

[biteybaby]

"When they're boring! Like, maybe they go uuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuUUUUUUUuuuuuuuUUUUuuuuuuuhhh and it really boring."

He nods solemnly. "I will keep that in mind. I cannot promise I will never play any more boring songs, but I will at least try for a balance."

"Want me to tell you if a song is a boring song? Can be my part time job."

[involuntaryturncoat]

"If you would like, you can. However your time may be better spent on other pursuits, as some people like to hear boring songs, and I would like to be fair to them as well."

"No, it okay, I have plenty of time."

"In that case, I do appreciate your help."
