Open: In a shout of joy at the only shrine where you come benighted and leave benign

Dark has come and gone again, which means it’s time to party.

In some ways the party is very similar to last year’s - same large banquet room in the mansion, a similarly large abundance of food and drink, and the promise of a night full of letting loose for everyone in attendance. It’s far from a direct clone of the previous party though. For starters, Dionysus has had Claudius help him in all of the planning (sometimes a god’s blessings come in the form of enrichment for one’s enclosure). They’ve gotten several of the mansion’s residents to agree to play live music during the night, and Dionysus was able to find some, ah, more widely appreciated CDs to play during the breaks between performers.

The room has been decorated to the nines again, but where last year he had green vines draping on the walls diffusing the glow from the twinkling fairy lights, this year he has strung up swooping vines of silver, glittering almost like tinsel. The large food tables have an almost ridiculous amount of things to munch on; there should be something for everyone there.

It should go without saying that the beverage tables are well-stocked, considering the host.

The festivities are starting a little earlier this year than last, out of respect for those who may or may not have earlier bedtimes. Come dressed in your finest, it’s a yearly tradition now!




Just as there was last year, there is to be an ‘after party’. If your character is part of the standard Orgy Invite Crew, they will have received another invitation to that half of the evening as well. Just like last year, this part of the event is to be handwaved, for obvious reasons.

He thinks this over. "I may be able to assist you."

"Gonna teach me how to be magic?"

[involuntaryturncoat]

"I'm afraid that isn't something I can teach. My kind of magic is one you have to be born with. But I can turn you invisible, if you'd like."

Sunny thinks about it. Hmm. "But, um, there lots of people in here right now so maybe if nobody can look at me they might step on me and I get squashed flat."

He nods. "That is true enough. And certainly something we do not want. Perhaps some other time when there are fewer people about?"

[biteybaby]

"Uh huh! Oh! Smodean! I know! Um. I gotta tell you a secret okay?"

[involuntaryturncoat]

"All right."

[biteybaby]

Sunny cups her hand around her mouth so that only Smodean can hear her. "Maybe if sometime I not wanna go to bedtime you can make me invisible and then I don't gotta go to bed cause nobody can even find me to put me there."

Asmodean listens, giving the suggestion all due consideration. "I could do that, yes. But I also think that your family would be incredibly worried about not being able to find you."

[biteybaby]

"Maybe I pretend to go to bed and then you make me invisible when I already pretending to be asleep, so everyone think 'oh Sunny is sleeping in bed cause it is bedtime' but really I'm somewhere else, maybe coloring or playing with my toys or something."

"It is a very clever plan, but I will have to decline it."

"Why?"

"What happens if there is an emergency and they come to get you and you are not there?"

[biteybaby]

"Then you can just make me not invisible anymore and then they will see that I not in the bed, I playing with blocks." Wait, unless the magic makes her invisible forever. She does not want to be invisible forever!!

[involuntaryturncoat]

"Just in case, though, perhaps we should come up with a different prank."

[biteybaby]

"Ugh!" She flops over. Smodean is being no help!

[involuntaryturncoat]

"I know, I know. I am terribly uncooperative and obstructionist."

[biteybaby]

"I don't know what that means."

[involuntaryturncoat]

"It means that I am getting in the way of your plans."

[biteybaby]

"You could maybe just not get in the way of plans."

[involuntaryturncoat]

"I fear that in this case, I am compelled to be a boring adult."

[biteybaby]

“UGH!”

[involuntaryturncoat]

"I know. Such injustice. I do have another thought that may make up for it at least slightly. If you think it would be a good idea, I could make some of the gelatin dishes invisible so that no one could find them to eat."

"No cause then maybe I not see them and accidentally swallow one."
