Dionysus is in a kitchen, apron tied over a purple dress with vine details, singing to himself as he uses a melon baller to scoop out a watermelon. The large bowl next to him is already full of honeydew melon and cantaloupe, and he's got a few other ingredients nearby ready to add in once he's done with the watermelon. Mint leaves, some honey, some lemon juice, and some lime juice.

It has been quite an eventful time lately, but overall his life is pretty great right now.

He lifts his eyebrows, quietly amused. "And your brother? The one who is here? Is he just as temperamental?"

[vineleaves]

“Whaaat? Apollo?” Dionysus laughs. “No, he’s much more relaxed.” Generally speaking. Nowadays. For certain definitions of ‘relaxed’.

[untamedantinous]

"Mm. I have not strictly paid attention to the stories my friends tell; but I take it all of the myths about him are not true? Or -- ah, less true than one might expect."

[vineleaves]

"There's a lot of myths that are ...less than true," Dionysus says. "People tell stories over the span of several thousand years, people make stuff up that then becomes spread alongside the truer stories, things get combined, things get changed..." He shrugs. "It can be a struggle, sometimes, but what are you gonna do about it."

He nods. "I daresay there are a few biased representations of the men of the first republic in my time ; but perhaps not. There are still some people about that remember those days." Marius' grandfather, for instance.

[vineleaves]

"Imagine how exaggerated everything'll be in four thousand years or so."

[untamedantinous]

"Ridiculously so, I should think."

[vineleaves]

"We should try to see if we can find some history books written really far into the future, it'll be funny."

[untamedantinous]

"Perhaps there might be some from Mlle. Tally's time?"

[vineleaves]

"Oh, yes! She's... what did she say, 500? 300? Some number of centuries past even my time."

[untamedantinous]

"I do not know, I have not spoken very much at all to her."

[vineleaves]

“I’ve only spoken with her a little as well. I seem to only run into her at parties.”

[untamedantinous]

He shrugs. "I am not -- ah, entirely social at parties, if you had not noticed."

[vineleaves]

“I take it you prefer … smaller groups to hang out in, huh?” When he’s not planning revolutions and such, clearly.

[untamedantinous]

"I...yes. I often kept to the sides at home, as well."

[vineleaves]

"There's nothing wrong with that! It can be just as much fun to hang out in smaller group as it can be to go to a huge party. And, y'know, everyone's going to have their own preferences in life."

[untamedantinous]

"Yes. Even at home, if I had to attend parties -- Courfeyrac usually dragged me."

[vineleaves]

"So, how do you prefer to spend time with your friends then?"

[untamedantinous]

He shrugs. "Discussing politics, primarily. Reading. Going to cafés. I do hope your play got those parts correct."

[vineleaves]

Dionysus laughs. “You make it sound like I wrote the thing. But — ah, yeah, I guess it more or less did get that correct.” Look there’s not a ton of time to devote to their, you know, hobbies in a three hour musical that still has to fit in everything about the actual main character. But Enjolras does, at the very least, do those things.

[untamedantinous]

“You certainly have more familiarity with it than I do,” Enjolras replies, amused.

[vineleaves]

"To be fair, I have more familiarity with it than most people do, even people in universes where it exists. But -- well, it is an incredibly good show. If that counts for anything."

[untamedantinous]

"....Thank you?" He's really not sure what to make of this compliment.

[vineleaves]

“We can change the subject if you want.”

[untamedantinous]

"Alright. I am not certain what else we might talk about."
