That was certainly a weird dream. If he hadn't experienced everyone else being ...weird alternate versions, he wouldn't think anything of it, but considering the fact that he had, he is now wondering if it happened to him, as well.

First order of business though is of course checking on Mercutio, to make sure he is back. Once that particular fear is gone, he decides breakfast is in order, then he should check up on the garden. Hopefully today will be normal and uneventful.



If anyone would like to speak with regular Dionysus now that he is no longer an AU, feel free! Or honestly if you just want to talk to him anyway, that's fine too.

"Ohh, I see how it is, you need me to stall so you can come up with something else. Fine then, for the first point, they're clearly hand-selecting residents for who they think would be best for you. Which you just admitted."

"That is clearly not the case, because I can name another half-dozen people at least who would be here in that case."

[vineleaves]

His arms around Grantaire get a little tighter. His second point was going to be, 'you are one of the people here with someone from home' but this seems like an inopportune time to bring that up, so he mentally scratches that off the list. For now. "Hey, you're the one who said they picked me because I'm able to make wine for you. Which -- speaking of --" he makes them a couple of glasses. "I've clearly been shirking my duties today. I hope you'll forgive me."

"I said it might be because you can make wine for everyone." He takes the glass. "But thank you."

[vineleaves]

"Next point, unless you have a secret hobby you haven't told me about, in which case shame on you, you get to indulge all of your hobbies here."

[futaille]

"I haven't really gotten to do any savate, although I don't think that counts as a secret hobby."

[vineleaves]

"You could try with Jared, I'm sure he'd be up for it."

[futaille]

He laughs. "I'm sure he would be. For one kick, at least."

[vineleaves]

"We can tape him back together after, it'll be fine."

[futaille]

"Oh, of course. Although I have to wonder if there's a slightly more sturdy faux opponent I could use instead."

[vineleaves]

"I'm sure we could find you a crash test dummy or something similar."

[futaille]

"A what?"

[vineleaves]

"Did anyone tell you about automobiles yet? Like -- carriages that don't need horses. They go really fast. You can drive from the top to the bottom of France in less than a day. So you can imagine how dangerous it is when they accidentally crash into something. So the manufacturers run all sorts of scientific tests before they put out a new style, crashing them to make sure they crash in the safest way possible. They have these mannequins that are a vague approximation of a person, to do their testing. Strap 'em in to the seats and then ram the thing into a wall, y'know, scientifically."

[futaille]

"And these mannequins work?"

[vineleaves]

“To help figure out how to make automobiles safer? I guess. I don’t actually know anything about how they do all the testing.”

[futaille]

"Good, then. People should be safer."

[vineleaves]

“Yep.” He leaves out the part where a bunch of people totally still die all the time from cars. That’s not important right now. “Anyway, when we get back inside we can go find one for you, prop it up against the wall, and you can kick it to your heart’s content.” He takes a sip of wine. “I’ll need to supervise, of course.”

[futaille]

He laughs a little. "Supervise?"

[vineleaves]

“Yep. It’s important. Supervision. Gotta watch.”

[futaille]

"Oh, of course."

[vineleaves]

“Mmhmm.” He sips his wine again. “I know a mannequin is probably not ideal, but until we can convince a real person — oh, I bet Apollo’d be up to it. He likes, y’know, sports. Want me to ask him for you?”

[futaille]

His eyebrows rise slightly. "Boxing a god?"

[vineleaves]

“I mean, I wouldn’t enter an archery contest with him and hope to win, but he’d probably be alright to kick some.” Does Dionysus have any clue what the rules are for this sport? No. He knows there’s kicking involved at least.

[futaille]

He laughs. "And hit. If he's willing, I'm willing to try."

[vineleaves]

“Aww, you two can have a little club. How cute!”
