Open: In a shout of joy at the only shrine where you come benighted and leave benign

Dark has come and gone again, which means it’s time to party.

In some ways the party is very similar to last year’s - same large banquet room in the mansion, a similarly large abundance of food and drink, and the promise of a night full of letting loose for everyone in attendance. It’s far from a direct clone of the previous party though. For starters, Dionysus has had Claudius help him in all of the planning (sometimes a god’s blessings come in the form of enrichment for one’s enclosure). They’ve gotten several of the mansion’s residents to agree to play live music during the night, and Dionysus was able to find some, ah, more widely appreciated CDs to play during the breaks between performers.

The room has been decorated to the nines again, but where last year he had green vines draping on the walls diffusing the glow from the twinkling fairy lights, this year he has strung up swooping vines of silver, glittering almost like tinsel. The large food tables have an almost ridiculous amount of things to munch on; there should be something for everyone there.

It should go without saying that the beverage tables are well-stocked, considering the host.

The festivities are starting a little earlier this year than last, out of respect for those who may or may not have earlier bedtimes. Come dressed in your finest, it’s a yearly tradition now!




Just as there was last year, there is to be an ‘after party’. If your character is part of the standard Orgy Invite Crew, they will have received another invitation to that half of the evening as well. Just like last year, this part of the event is to be handwaved, for obvious reasons.

"I understand," he says airily before taking a drink. "I am too inherently dignified with wine in hand."

"That's right! The glass gives thee an air of worldliness."

[involuntaryturncoat]

"Certainly. I cannot be at cross-purposes to the goal." He finishes off his glass and sets it aside.

[sagramore]

At once Sagramore offers his hands, inviting Asmodean to lead.

[involuntaryturncoat]

Accepting the invitation, Asmodean takes Sagramore's hands and sweeps him to the dance floor. "Ridiculously, you said."

[sagramore]

"Interpret it as thou wouldst."

[involuntaryturncoat]

"Very well." He promptly turns Sagamore to face away from him before turning himself to stand back-to-back before reaching back grasping his hands again. "Now, we dance."

[sagramore]

"Asmodean!" A burst of delighted laughter as he leans back against Asmodean.

[involuntaryturncoat]

He laughs as well and starts to dance Sagamore along the dance floor, backwards, to the music.

[sagramore]

Physical challenges of this nature are, of course, one of his favorite kinds of games, and ones he's most suited for. He's surprisingly agile as he begins inventing some footwork.

Asmodean was honestly expecting no less. It's certainly not his forte in the way that it is for Sagamore, but he does his level best to keep up with the new footwork.

Sagramore laughs with unmitigated pleasure as he realizes Asmodean is really playing along. "Faster now!"

[involuntaryturncoat]

"Don't be surprised if I fall on my face." He picks up speed.

[sagramore]

"That's all in the spirit of the thing."

[involuntaryturncoat]

"In that case, perfect, I suppose." He's having to concentrate on his feet now.

[sagramore]

"Oh, everything about thee is perfect."

[involuntaryturncoat]

"Of course. Flawless." At that point, of course, he misses a step and almost stumbles but manages to recover.

[sagramore]

"Ah, careful!"

[involuntaryturncoat]

"Nothing wounded but a fraction of dignity."

[sagramore]

"When thou hast so much to spare, a fraction can't make up such a large part."

[involuntaryturncoat]

"That depends on what fraction, I would say, but in this case you are right. Barely a bruise."

[sagramore]

"Good. If thou art to be bruised at all, it should be by my mouth."

[involuntaryturncoat]

He laughs. "That is certainly preferable, yes."

[sagramore]

"Faster now," he adds, and picks up the pace yet again.

[involuntaryturncoat]

He nods and dances along.
