Open: it's time now to sing out though the story never ends

[This is being posted early, but it is meant to be occurring on the one year anniversary of Dionysus arriving at the mansion.]

There's a room in the mansion Dionysus discovered somewhat recently that is, for lack of anything better to call it, a dance studio. Shiny hardwood floors, one long wall of mirror, the opposite wall featuring a mounted barre. If anyone happens to be walking by it today, the open door might catch their attention, as Dionysus has his cd player set up playing music, which he is dancing to at the moment. He's wearing a pair of gauzy, loose pants that sit low on his hips, complete with a gold belt with dangling chains that serve to help emphasize his movements. His hair is pulled up into a messy bun, finally long enough that he can get all of it up with only a minimum of strands sticking out oddly.

He has been here for a whole year. To be fair, he's only slightly certain he's got the date correct, but even if it hasn't been a full year to the exact minute or whatever, it's close enough. A whole year. A year trapped, held prisoner for some unknown reason, unable to break out, kept away from all of his friends and family. A year in which he has been given the wonderful opportunity to meet people he couldn't possibly imagine living without now, in a place where anything, even stopping death, is possible.

Dionysus is fairly zoned out as he dances, so if anyone decides to duck in and say hello, it might take him a while before he notices.

"Ooh yes, we need to show each other off. Make all the crabs and fishies jealous."

"They will be positively consumed with envy."

[vineleaves]

"As opposed to being consumed with butter and lemon."

[futaille]

"I think they would certainly prefer the envy."

[vineleaves]

"We could find matching outfits for all of the little crabbies, so that they're not too envious."

[futaille]

"I wonder if Kade would be up to the task of outfitting crabs."

[vineleaves]

"I get the impression he'd be up for outfitting just about anyone, little crabbies included." A breeze blows by, and Dionysus leans into Grantaire that much more at it.

[futaille]

"Just imagine the trousers to fit all of those legs." He holds Dionysus close.

[vineleaves]

"Tiny trousers for the legs, but giant sleeves for their arms."

[futaille]

If Grantaire had the cultural context, he would almost certainly be making a joke about skipping leg day. Sadly, he does not, so you'll just have to imagine it. "Which makes for an excellent balance, as there are several more legs than arms."

[vineleaves]

"D'you think tiny crab trousers would pull on from back to front, or from the bottom up to the sides?"

[futaille]

"It would have to be bottom up, no? Like regular trousers."

[vineleaves]

"I just realized -- little tiny crab suspenders!"

[futaille]

"That is adorable. Almost as adorable as you."

[vineleaves]

"I dunno, tiny crab suspenders are pretty adorable. I couldn't possibly be as cute as that." They might be talking about crabs right now but Dionysus is fiiiiiishing.

[futaille]

"True. You aren't as cute as that. You are ever so much cuter."

[vineleaves]

"Oh well that simply can't be true. You're going to have to go into detail to convince me."

[futaille]

"Head to toe or toe to head?"

[vineleaves]

"Head to toe."

[futaille]

"Your hair is adorable. I love the way it falls on your forehead."

[vineleaves]

"You like this length for it then?"

[futaille]

"I do like that length for it. In fairness, I do also like every other length you wear it at."

[vineleaves]

"It's a nice length for this sort of hairstyle right now, thankfully."

[futaille]

"It absolutely is."

[vineleaves]

"Anyway, sorry for distracting you, please continue," he says with a big, huge grin.
