Open: Takes a lot of medicine to make it through the wintertime

The first day of Dark was difficult enough to get through. When the situation didn't improve after a few days, however, Dionysus really began to worry. That the house would stop cooperating when it comes to creating food at the same time his own powers of generation have become so severely diminished... it doesn't sit easy with him.

He is grateful that he still has some powers, but he's been finding it difficult to produce grapes or wine (or any related products) of any quality, whereas before it came to him like breathing. But he considers it his duty to do what he can to offset the dwindling supplies, so every day he spends a few hours creating what he can: grapes, raisins, cartons of grape juice, and of course, bottles of wine, before diligently distributing it to the various kitchens and eating-places in the house. Wherever he thinks people may go to look for something to eat. Should anyone need him, he shouldn't be too difficult to locate.

"Well. Some were here for a day, but it was only visiting."

He has heard there are occasionally visitors, so he's not entirely surprised. "Who came to visit?"

"Courfeyrac and Combeferre." There is a beat. "I do not know if you would know them."

[vineleaves]

To be honest, in the musical there's not a whole lot of individuality among any of the boys, save for Enjolras and Grantaire. It's not even really that noticeable when a production will separate or combine the parts to fit their cast size better. Not unless you're very familiar with the usual distribution of things. There's probably much more about them in the book he never decided to read.

"I would love to hear about them, if you're up for it."

[untamedantinous]

"Well, that depends on how long you would like me to go on. Combeferre and Courfeyrac are --ah, were -- my lieutenants in our little group. Combeferre is one of our resident philosophers, he was studying to be a doctor at home. He was my first friend in Paris. He and Courfeyrac are...they are my dearest friends. Courfeyrac is everything that I am not, warm and charming and grounding."

[vineleaves]

"They sound absolutely lovely, I'm glad they came to visit and you got to see them."

[untamedantinous]

"Mmm. I do wish they could come back. They got along very well with a few here."

[vineleaves]

"I'm sure Grantaire would appreciate it as well."

[untamedantinous]

"--Yes. He was quite happy they were here as well, though he was closer with a few of our other friends."

[vineleaves]

"Hopefully they'll all show up sooner or later."

[untamedantinous]

"We shall see, I suppose. It has been some months now."

[vineleaves]

"I'll keep my fingers crossed for you both."

[untamedantinous]

"Thank you." There's a slight pause. "I do think you would get on very well with Prouvaire, as well. He is a poet."

[vineleaves]

Here's to pretty girls who went to our heads flashes through Dionysus's head, but he manages to not even so much as hum. He's proud of himself for that. "Oh, I do tend to get along well with poets! My closest brother is the god of Poetry, you know."

"Jehan would get along with him as well, I am sure. He is quite the Romantic."
