Open: All that you are is a face in the mirror

That was certainly a weird dream. If he hadn't experienced everyone else being ...weird alternate versions, he wouldn't think anything of it, but considering the fact that he had, he is now wondering if it happened to him, as well.

First order of business though is of course checking on Mercutio, to make sure he is back. Once that particular fear is gone, he decides breakfast is in order, then he should check up on the garden. Hopefully today will be normal and uneventful.



If anyone would like to speak with regular Dionysus now that he is no longer an AU, feel free! Or honestly if you just want to talk to him anyway, that's fine too.

He runs a finger over the length of the chain. "Oh. That's lovely."

[sagramore]

"And then Claudius found out and was furious we hadn't had a party."

[vineleaves]

Dionysus smiles, and kisses Grantaire's cheek. "I'm glad you like it."

[vineleaves]

He smiles. "I can imagine. I think he likes planning parties even more than I do."

[sagramore]

"The two of thee together would be a force to be reckoned with," laughing.

[vineleaves]

"I've already decided he's on the committee for planning the post-Dark party next year." The committee of just the two of them. "I think he'd like that."

[futaille]

He smiles. "How could I not?"

[vineleaves]

"Can I be really sappy for a moment, and you won't try to argue with whatever I say?" He asks, as if he hasn't already been sappy today.

[futaille]

"Since you're giving fair warning, go ahead."

[sagramore]

"Oh, marvelous. Yes, I think he'd love that. He loves to be thought of."

[vineleaves]

"Thanks," and another quick kiss before he continues. "I love you -- so incredibly much, Étienne. That's not the sappy part, I say that a lot -- but I think -- I don't want to say 'oh, it's fate that we're together, blablabla', mostly because the Moirai aren't here so I don't think fate has anything to do with this place but -- well, I do think there's something to be said for the fact that I show up here and am immediately greeted by my favorite character from one of my favorite musicals, who's silly, and beautiful, and so kind, and enjoys wine, and drinks almost-vinegar because it's funny. And then you're the one who ends up knowing what I'm from as well. There's at least a couple of other people I can think of who might have been able to figure it out and tell me, but you're the one who did."

He takes a break mid-monologue to run his fingers through Étienne's hair. "You could've been doing anything yesterday, but you made a point to ask him about my mother. It really, really means a lot to me. You mean a lot to me. Everyone should know how much you mean to me. How special you are."

[futaille]

As the monologue goes on, and stymied by his promise not to try and argue with whatever Dionysus says, he buries his rapidly flushing face into Dionysus's shoulder.

When the deluge of compliments is over, though, he does manage a muffled "Thank you."

[vineleaves]

Dionysus wraps his arms around Grantaire and presses a kiss to the top of his head. "Love you."

[futaille]

Still muffled, "I love you too."

[vineleaves]

"I want to be good to him, y'know?" But enough about Claudius, there's a more immediate concern. "So when did you get all the other dresses? Just to get them, or were they for special occasions too?"

[vineleaves]

"Okay, done being sappy, you can go back to arguing with whatever you feel like now," he says with a laugh.

[sagramore]

"Oh, Kade made this one for me," reaching into the closet to pull out the burgundy dress. "Kade's quite bored, I think. I asked for a dress that would make Laertes fuck me over a table and he made this. Look thou, the slits are hard to see, but--" Indeed, the skirt of the gown is cut right up to the hip.

[futaille]

He laughs and lifts his head, just a bit. "You know you're entirely too good to me, right?"

[vineleaves]

"Well I know how much you like arguing, seems a shame to deprive you of it for more than a few minutes."

[papadopoulos]

"Yeah, I suppose so. It was weird, though. I mean, I guess he had Semele, so, you know, a little less weird; but. You know what I mean?"

[futaille]

"Your generosity is boundless."

[vineleaves]

"Well, you know me, the most benevolent god around." He pauses, then laughs. "That joke would've worked better if I'd used it before Apollo arrived here too."

[futaille]

"It's still accurate, I think."

[vineleaves]

He laughs some more. "Well I'm definitely glad you agree on that."

[futaille]

"Don't think it's because I'm biased, either."
