Open: In a shout of joy at the only shrine where you come benighted and leave benign

Dark has come and gone again, which means it’s time to party.

In some ways the party is very similar to last year’s - same large banquet room in the mansion, a similarly large abundance of food and drink, and the promise of a night full of letting loose for everyone in attendance. It’s far from a direct clone of the previous party though. For starters, Dionysus has had Claudius help him in all of the planning (sometimes a god’s blessings come in the form of enrichment for one’s enclosure). They’ve gotten several of the mansion’s residents to agree to play live music during the night, and Dionysus was able to find some, ah, more widely appreciated CDs to play during the breaks between performers.

The room has been decorated to the nines again, but where last year he had green vines draping on the walls diffusing the glow from the twinkling fairy lights, this year he has strung up swooping vines of silver, glittering almost like tinsel. The large food tables have an almost ridiculous amount of things to munch on; there should be something for everyone there.

It should go without saying that the beverage tables are well-stocked, considering the host.

The festivities are starting a little earlier this year than last, out of respect for those who may or may not have earlier bedtimes. Come dressed in your finest, it’s a yearly tradition now!




Just as there was last year, there is to be an ‘after party’. If your character is part of the standard Orgy Invite Crew, they will have received another invitation to that half of the evening as well. Just like last year, this part of the event is to be handwaved, for obvious reasons.

"Ay, it's mostly talking and eating, and a bit of dancing," says Laertes, swaying a little with Sunny in his arms. "What wouldst thou like to do, next time there's a party?"

"When Magnu, um when Magnu had hims Galad party there was stuff." She especially liked the part where they all drew Alex a bunch of times.

[timebethine]

"There was," Laertes agrees. "I'll be sure to mention it to Dionysus ere his marriage, that thou wilt have many things to occupy thee through all of the talking and dancing."

[biteybaby]

She flops over dramatically, going limp in Far's arms. "Ughhh!!!!! I can't believe Sissy and Aire gonna have a stupid boring wedding." Crowley told her about it and they both decided it's probably not going to be any fun at all.

[timebethine]

"I'll make sure there's something for thee to do," says Laertes, and gently dips her so that her little ponytail almost touches the ground.

[biteybaby]

The dip makes her giggle, because it's a lot of fun, but then she says, "I don't wanna stand and be Flowers Girl! I hate to be Flowers Girl!"

[timebethine]

"Ay, I can see thou art too grown now for such things," says Laertes. "But I think thou art ready for a very important task--one that suits well thy skills and interests. Hast thou ever heard" and Laertes has heard excessively about this, as Claudius was planning his wedding "of a wedding photographer?"

[biteybaby]

She shakes her head no, but it must be really exciting because of how excited Far sounds talking about it. But then she remembers that she knows what the word 'photographer' means, it is someone to takes photos, like how she takes photos with her pandera. "Does that mean to take pictures at the wedding?"

[timebethine]

"Ay, so it does! Apart from Ophelia and Galahad, thou art our most accomplished photographer--no doubt they'll be honored to see thy work as a memento of the day."

[biteybaby]

"What I suppose to take picture of?" Nothing even happens at a wedding, everyone just stands around talking.

[timebethine]

"What dost thou like best taking pictures of?"

[biteybaby]

She shrugs. She just likes taking pictures of stuff and things and when things are happening and stuff like that.

[timebethine]

"Then thou shouldst take pictures of everything. The people, and the food, and the flowers and vines; any strange insects that catch thine eye--the prettiest gown, or the worst hat, or any time that Dionysus cries." He imagines that will be many, many times.

[biteybaby]

"Oh yeah I bet Sissy gonna cry a lot cause he gonna be so sad that his wedding is not fun."

[timebethine]

"And thou wilt never marry, wilt thou?"

[biteybaby]

"I just a kid! Kids not supposed to marry!" Unless their guardians give them permission, and even then, it might be technically legal but Sunny does not approve.

[timebethine]

"Not even when thou art grown?"

[biteybaby]

"That's so long time from now, I dunno."
